What has Madonna done to her face?

May 8, 2016 | Ask Nicola then, In the press

Last week Madonna appeared on the red carpet at the Met Ball; What, the Daily Record wanted to know from Dr Willis, had the Material Girl done to her face, and what causes the ‘big cheek cat-eye effect’

Nicola Willis replied,

OK, I need to be careful here I guess!

She does look a bit weird I agree but nevertheless, her skin does look in great shape. She will undoubtedly have had skin rejuvenation procedures like PRP(Vampire Lift) , resurfacing procedures ( Fractora/Fraxel) and collagen stimulating treatments ( mesotherapy, needling).

I think she has probably had at least one face lift in her time as it is impossible to achieve that degree of tightness and smoothness without surgery. (There are other ways to tighten the face naturally but more of that later!).
From the way her eyes lift at the outer edges it looks like she has had an upper and lower face lift and has probably had a blepharoplasty ( this removes excess skin from the upper eyelids ). You can see the way the laughter lines curve upwards at the outer edges of her eyes. This usually means an upper face lift. This is usually done at the same time as a lower face and neck lift. I would be surprised if she hasn’t had this done.

You can see she has had cheek filler as volume loss in this area can be ageing. It happens to most of us but can be especially noticeable in people who exercise excessively. Think she is known to be pretty fit.
So, in summary,
Combining too much cheek filler with too tight a lift can result is a strange look reminiscent of a cat. Have to hand it to her though. I still think she looks great.

The Daily Record ran the story as Madonna is almost unrecognisable on the Met Gala red carpet.
